Now why would I say that you should choose this one now? Well not only have I gotten recipes from this as living proof, but with the nerfed amount of gold these old school dailies do, getting the occasional Goldenscale Vendorfish out of the barrel has proven to make it more worthwhile than that of what you would get from the Crate of Meat, especially considering that the food that can be cooked from either container does not sell for nearly as much as it did back when BC was the current expansion.

Sure the drop rates for recipes like Stormchops seem to be more common in the Crate of Meat, but who is to say that was just biased towards people that wanted meat to cook over fish to cook for the buffs they respectively give. People that are still doing the Outland cooking daily quests in hopes of getting that last recipe for The Outland Gourmet may want to start choosing the Barrel of Fish over the Crate of Meat now.
